We promised in our last post to show pictures of how to sew in the sleeves in Jytte’s summer blouse LAVENDEL.Well…some time has passed, we went on a road trip to North Carolina and Georgia. We needed to get away and I decided against bringing the laptop! So no blogging, but lots of knitting while my husband was driving. Intarsia in the round works great while riding in a car, I almost finished the vest but more about that in a later blog.
Beautiful Lindvall Falls in North carolina
Her er LAVENDEL i profil .
Here is LAVENDEL in profile with a nicely finished sleeve. The armholes have a selvedge of 3 knit stitches forming a firm edge making it easier to sew in the sleeves.
Position the sleeve on top of the armhole and pin down making sure both pieces match up.
Sew the sleeve on to the armhole edge with mattress stitches working on the right side of work. (See our post from august 2008 about sewing knitting together using mattress stitches)
Sy i den miderste af de 3 ret kantmaskerSew into the middle stitch of the 3 knit stitches
